Your assignment today will be to use a table to arrange the two text
snippets below with one or more images in a meaningful and
visually appealing manner.
Hint: for best results with your table, follow the procedure
outlined in this lesson. Take pencil to paper and sketch your
table before you try building it. Having a drawing to work from
makes everything else much, much easier.
Please note that there are no right or wrong answers to this
assignment. Your goal here should be simply to stretch your
creative wings. All I want you to do is take what you've learned
in the last three lessons and create an organized and
aesthetically pleasing way to present the information provided
below.
If you have access to a Web server and would like to share what you've
done with your classmates, I encourage you to use the lesson 3
discussion area to share the Web address of any tables you
build.
Text Snippet 1 - This must appear somewhere in your table.
SyncData Corporation was founded in 1976 through proceeds earned from
the sale of a calculator and volkswagen bus. We started
building our systems in a garage, using parts we pilfered
from our employer. In 1977, our innovative hardware and
software captured the eye of a CEO for a big calculator
company, and he offered to buy our fledgling company
outright. We turned him down, and have been struggling ever
since.
Today, SyncData is a supplier of digital communications products and
technologies. We develop, manufacture, market, license and
operate communications systems for a wide range of markets
and applications. We now employ almost 7 people in our
Needles, California headquarters and other offices around
the world.
Text Snippet 2 - This must also appear somewhere in your table.
The text does not necessarily need to be formatted exactly as
you see it here.

Images - Please choose at least one of these images to use in or
around your table. You may use more than one image or even
substitute your own images, if you prefer.

If you have any difficulties viewing your table, don't panic. If a
table breaks, the problem will almost invariably have been
caused by a missing <td>, </td>, <tr>, or </tr> tag. If you make
sure all of your <td> tags are paired up with </td> tags and all
of your <tr> tags match up with a corresponding </tr> tag,
you'll be fine. But if you have a problem you can't seem to
resolve, please don't hesitate to post a note in the lesson 3
discussion area.
