Since SSI only works with certain hosting services, I'm not
going to ask you to do anything with SSI and the sites we've
been developing in this course.
But eventually, you'll want to use content from layout.htm or
clientlayout.htm in multiple pages of a site. Therefore, I
encourage you to take a crack at creating an index.htm page that
contains the branding, navbar, footer, and sidebar columns from
your layout. Put content that's unique to the index.htm page in
the content division of that page.
Remember, you don't need any special technologies to do that.
Just copy layout.htm (or clientlayout.htm) to a page named
index.htm. Then, put the content that's unique to your home page
in the content division of index.htm.
If your hosting service supports SSI, you're welcome to take a
crack at that method, too. If you have any problems, just post a
message in the Discussion Area. Hopefully, we'll be able to
clear things up for you there.
